There’s no denying that the members of The Bedros Team love where they live! East Tennessee has a lot to offer locals and visitors alike. In our first team meeting of 2020, we sat down to discuss our goals for this year. The conversation quickly shifted from discussing facts and figures to discussing how much our community has to offer families looking to move to East Tennessee. Whether you have a heart for the great outdoors, the arts community or the social scene, this area has an activity for everyone, and we want to share the ones we are looking forward to this year!
Bedros’ bucket list activity: Supporting our local theatres and attending a variety of wonderful performances
Location: Downtown Knoxville
“We are fortunate to have historic venues in Knoxville such as the Tennessee Theatre and the Bijou Theatre that provide such a variety of entertainment for locals and visitors to enjoy. My wife and I are donors to both of these theatres, and we believe it is important to also show our support for the many performers these venues bring to town by attending events whenever we can. I know there will be several events on the theatres’ calendars that peak our interest! Personally, my favorite events to attend usually feature music. This stems from my mother taking me to see shows when I was a child. She always encouraged me to respect the art and to pursue learning a musical instrument. However, if musical performances aren’t your favorite pastime, the venues offer comedy shows, plays, operas, kids entertainment and more.”
Add a theatre performance to your bucket list! There’s a chance you will catch Bedros there enjoying a show. You can find the wide variety of upcoming performances perfect for all ages at www.tennesseetheatre.com/events/ and www.knoxbijou.org/events/.
Gina’s bucket list activity: Attending Bike Boat Brew & Bark
Location: Downtown/South Knoxville
“In addition to being a mother to my son, I am 100% a dog mom too! I am looking forward to the Bike Boat Bark & Brew event that takes place this summer at Volunteer Landing. The event offers fun activities for my entire family, including my sweet pup, Ginger! Since I moved back to Knoxville from Florida a few years ago, one of my goals has been to explore more of the Urban Wilderness Trails, and this event includes a guided urban bike ride and a guided brewery ride. I also really want to submit Ginger into the Young-Williams Animal Center pet photo contest!”

Lindsay’s bucket list activity: Hiking more Smoky Mountain trails
Location: Sevier County and surrounding areas
“When my husband and I first met, we went hiking almost every weekend. I want to get back into that habit in 2020, but this time we will plan to bring our two kids along on our hikes. In the past, our favorite two trails were Rainbow Falls and the Chimney Tops. We would pack a lunch and enjoy our meal once we made it to the beautiful views. I look forward to exploring new trails now that the kids are at the age to handle a big hike. I can’t wait to show them the beauty of the mountains and pass along our love for hiking.”
